LIFE2A Basic Pistol Class — For New Shooters & First-Time Buyers

Thinking about buying your first handgun? Or you already own one but never got real instruction on it? This class is built for exactly that moment — before you spend money on the wrong gun, or develop habits you’ll have to unlearn later.

Taught by Mitch Lorentz, NRA Certified Pistol Instructor, this is hands-on, practical instruction, not a lecture. You’ll leave knowing how a pistol actually works, how to evaluate one before you buy, and how to handle it safely and confidently.

You’ll learn:

• The four fundamental safety rules — and why they matter every single time you touch a firearm
• How revolvers and semi-auto pistols actually work, and the real differences between them (so gun-shop jargon stops being a foreign language)
• How ammunition works, how to read cartridge markings, and how to store it correctly
• Shooting fundamentals — stance, grip, sight alignment, trigger control
• How to evaluate a pistol before buying: fit, recoil, reliability, ease of cleaning, and where to find honest reviews
• Red dot sights vs. iron sights — real pros and cons, not marketing hype
• Dry-fire practice, so you can build skill at home without spending money on ammo
• How to safely clean and maintain a pistol, so it’s reliable when you need it

You’ll get a live-fire exercise on the range, putting what you learned into practice under direct instruction.

By the end, you’ll know how to choose the right pistol for you, handle it safely and confidently, and keep learning long after class ends.
